Drone with kilo of meth crashes on roof of business

SAN YSIDRO, Calif. — Border patrol brokers observed a drone Sunday with a kilo of meth taped to it on prime of a San Ysidro company.

Main Patrol Agent Aaron M. Heitke shared pictures of the drone and medications on Twitter. He stated an individual called Border Patrol to report a drone crashed on the roof of a business enterprise shut to the border.

FOX 5 talked with Border Patrol brokers in January about an escalating amount of drones witnessed traveling over residences in San Ysidro.

“I see them all the time,” just one neighbor claimed. “I also see persons in automobiles that just sit there for hours, it seems bizarre.”

Agents mentioned employing drones to smuggle medications isn’t unusual, but they’re observing a slight uptick in latest months.

“They are employing the cover of evening typically to smuggle unlawful contraband into the U.S.,” Agent Justin Castrejon reported.

The illegal cargo can be cocaine, meth and other substances. Border Patrol is inquiring citizens to report any sightings, in the sky and on their streets.
